The Call '07

Over 225 BIC young adults converged on the Harrisburg Holiday Inn East this past weekend for an energizing weekend of worship and consecration. With nearly 50 participants from south Florida and about 30 from Ontario, every BIC conference was represented. As a special BIC event that hits every 3 years, The Call is a space for young adults to seek God's purposes for their life in a rich environment of peer connection, worship, and mentoring. Personal reflection exercises, small group breakouts, ministry-specific seminars and one-on-one interviews with church leaders all contribute to a sense of being encouraged and supported as the next generation ready to answer God's call.

Roxbury '07

Roxbury Holiness Camp - birthed in 1935 when revival meetings were held in an old dance hall - hosted the 73rd annual Roxbury Camp Meeting August 3rd through 12th. It was special to have about 25 BIC missionaries present representing one of the largest group of deploying missionaries in the past 20 years for Missions Day. Yup, it was hot -- maybe a new record! But the generous offering gathered was also record-breaking bringing $182,000 to BIC world missions and North American church planting. Thanks to each of you who partner with us to raise worship in the nations as we all pursue God's mission

At the peaceful setting of Roxbury Camp, a team of about 25 missionaries, reps at large, and staff (plus about 12 children) gathered for our Annual Missionary Workshop--August 3-7. This group of new and returning workers from around the world spent Friday evening and Saturday focusing on connecting and team-building in a very creative format. The entire team demonstrated group action by launching 3 people per minute over a 25 ft. wall!-- a new record! Sunday, set aside as a day of renewal and rest, the team reflected, shared and prayed together, with a gentle focus on issues of the heart. Monday and Tuesday, were filled with very creative presentations on various topics relivant to missionary life, including rich times of worship and prayer, a special time praying for John and Kathy and their family, and and commissioning prayer time on Tuesday afternoon. Each evening, the team attended the sessions at Roxbury's Camp Meeting, and were available to pray for those seeking God. We were all grateful for God's presence throughout as we departed energized and unified for the opportunities ahead in our respective roles.
